OVERVIEW
From my own experience in recruitment, I saw firsthand how overwhelming the job search can be, especially for IT candidates juggling multiple roles. Missed interviews, ghosted applications, and scattered info were common pain points. The existing process felt chaotic and unempathetic, with very little structure or visibility for the candidate. By syncing application codes from recruiters, TechLink centralizes all this information, providing real-time status updates, reminders, and an actionable to-do list.

THE CHALLENGE
One of the main challenges was simplifying a process with so many moving parts. It was easy to overload the interface with “useful” features. I had to stay ruthless about what would actually help users feel less overwhelmed. That meant regularly checking my assumptions through feedback and testing early wireframes. Balancing functionality with a lightweight, empathetic experience was key.

THE SOLUTION
I kicked off the project by mapping out the most common frustrations candidates face, many of which I remembered from my time as an IT recruiter. I translated these into actionable features: application syncing, real-time status updates, reminders, and a personalised to-do list. I designed the app with visual clarity at its core, focusing on calm UI, quick-glance information, and minimal friction. Every decision I made, from layout to copy, was informed by strategic thinking and a deep focus on emotional design.

THE RESULT
TechLink gave candidates control over their job search and helped recruiters improve communication at the same time. By syncing application codes, users got transparency and peace of mind, while recruiters benefited from fewer no-shows and clearer feedback loops. It was a win-win for both sides of the hiring process.

Conclusion
With TechLink, IT candidates gain control of their job search, while recruiters improve communication and candidate satisfaction. The app reduces missed interviews, keeps feedback loops transparent, and builds trust in the hiring process. This project highlights my passion for designing human-centered solutions that make complex processes feel simple, organized, and efficient.
